Every time that we hear one of our students speak with an Irish person, we realize that they have truly improved in this short period of time. We can be really proud of how they operate in this language and, therefore, say that the main objective of this trip have been achieved.
Today is time to read the opinions of our three boys in St. Colmcilles school. They have shared school but no classroom, so they would be able to have a more productive immersion. Miguel goes in the same line that other partners by explaining the initial difficulties lived: “Durante los primeros días me costó integrarme, pero a los cuatro días era como si nos conociésemos de toda la vida. Las cosas mejoraban por momentos y se me está pasando muy rápido”. He also mentions a very important fact: “Sólo veo a mis amigos españoles los sábados y en los patios, lo cual es bueno para mi porque así mejoro el inglés”.
Jaime writes about other lessons learned from this experience: “En este mes en Irlanda he aprendido muchas cosas aparte de inglés, como a hacer la cama, perfecta, a comer bombas picantes, etc. El colegio es muy divertido y tengo dos patios. He hecho muchos amigos, he vivido con un italiano que es muy majo, y todo esto ha sido muy bueno para aprender y madurar”.
Contrary to other students, Daniel felt really comfortable since the beginning, as he expresses: “Los primeros días en Irlanda fueron los mejores porque tu llegas allí a un país nuevo, una familia nueva, nuevas costumbres…es divertido. Al final uno se va haciendo, y aunque eso de levantarse a las 6:45h para ir al cole me parecía una barbaridad, te acabas adaptando”. He also adds something quite interesting at the end of his report: “Estos últimos días uno tiene la sensación de que le gustaría quedarse más, y lo que hay que hacer ahora es aprovechar cada minuto que pasa”.

This Thursday is an important date, especially for one of them: today is Jaime’s birthday!!! In order to celebrate it, and in addition to his family’s presents, we have gone to Dundrum shopping centre, the largest one in city, where we have been able to enjoy a delicious chocolate milkshake.
